Put A Ring On It!

People generally notice the absence of a body part. A good prosthesis will restore the length and contours of the missing part while allowing the wearer to move naturally. A comfortable fit and a close colour match will complete the prosthesis and allow the wearer to integrate it into their body image.

It can be challenging to make the edge of a finger prosthesis blend in and disappear. One way to make this happen is to wear a ring at the transition point. There is a wide variety of rings available. Look for a ring with enough width to cover the edge of the prosthesis completely. Think of it as “hiding in plain sight”.
